Main productBeef Masala

Ingredients
- 700 g stewing beef, cubed
- 2 onions, chopped
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 2 carrots, sliced
- 2 potatoes, cubed
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 2 1/2 teaspoons King's Beef Masala
- 1 teaspoon King's Curry Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon King's Ginger Powder
- 2 cups water or beef stock, plus more as needed
- Salt and coriander to taste
Steps
- 1
Season the beef with salt and brown it in oil in batches. Browning first gives the stew a deeper base.
- 2
Add onions and cook until softened. Stir in King's Beef Masala, King's Curry Powder, and King's Ginger Powder.
- 3
Add tomatoes and cook until the mixture thickens and starts to cling to the beef.
- 4
Add water or beef stock, cover, and simmer gently until the beef begins to soften. Top up with a little water if the pot dries out.
- 5
Add carrots and potatoes, then cook until the vegetables are tender and the beef is fully soft.
- 6
Adjust salt, finish with coriander, and rest for 5 minutes before serving.
